“The rain makes the knot harder to untie,” said Kim with poetic optimism, as it was looking like their intimate backyard wedding would be held in the rain.
Normally, there’s a backup rain plan of moving the wedding indoors, but nothing about the summer of 2020 was normal. Because of the virus, Kim and Dave knew that every part of the wedding had to be outdoors, even with the guest list drastically reduced to family members only.
And that was more than OK with them. Kim and Dave didn’t mind the impending rain, didn’t mind the downsized guest list, didn’t mind that they wouldn’t be able to have a dance party with their friends as originally planned. Truly, all they wanted was to marry their soul mate.
As it turns out, it didn’t rain. And what was made abundantly clear on their wedding day is that Kim and Dave don’t need a wet knot because their knot has been tied tightly and securely, with their full hearts and commitment. Their bond is built on love, respect, overflowing kindness, and lots of laughter.
Kim and Dave, I am so thrilled for you! Your wedding day was absolutely magical, just as it was meant to be. I’m inspired by the way you treat each other and the way you treat others, and I couldn’t be happier for you. Congratulations!
