The Loft by Bridgeview Wedding - Long Island - Sarah and Michael

This was the big moment. Sarah and Michael had gotten ready separately and were about to see each other for the first time on their wedding day. They were about to do… their second look.

Huh? Don’t I mean a first look? The thing is, Sarah and Michael did their first look a few months prior to the wedding. They knew they wanted some wedding photos with the sunset, with some landmarks around town, and of course with their dog Winnie!! They knew it would be logistically stressful to add all of that into the wedding day, so instead of a traditional engagement session, we used that time to get some wonderful wedding portraits. Sarah made it sound so simple when she said that Michael is her forever, he can see her in the dress before the wedding day.

The reason I bring this up is because it actually says so much about Sarah and Michael. They are a couple who, when faced with a seemingly impossible scenario, thinks outside the box. They had a list of certain things that were important to them, including pics with Winnie AND a stress-free wedding day, and they were able to be creative while keeping the experience fun and easy for everyone. And that’s, I think, the heart of it. Not only did they want the wedding to be stress-free for themselves, they wanted that for all of their friends and family.

Sarah and Michael, I have no doubt that this is something you apply to every area of your lives. It’s so clear to me that you’re a couple who is able to have so much richness with each other, while also being so generous to those around you. I love that you work as a team, with a seemingly effortless sense of fun and ease. I’m so honored that I was able to celebrate and photograph your wedding!
